Uncertainty

16/07/2010

What do you do when you can’t decide?

Oh, I am not talking about life and death situation. I mean things like which dress or outfit to wear, or what time is best to meet up, and where should we gather for a cuppa.

Are you like me? I tend to talk about it. It is as if the more I verbalize it, the more clear it somehow becomes.

Some others I know won’t say a word till it’s all a done thing.

Which are you?

Storing Stuff

14/05/2010

So I live in a detached house. So it has a kind of basement. So it has ample space on all floors. So my living room is a through lounge with my dining and dry kitchen. So the ground floor ceiling is thirteen feet high.

It all adds up to one word – SPACE. I seem to have ample space.

But that is far from true.

I am still looking for more space! You just need to see the stuff lying all over the basement floor to see what I mean! I can’t even begin to start putting things away. I sometimes wish I could have a couple DuraMax Colossus Metal Storage Sheds 50231 in my garden. But then, space in my garden is another story!

Who Said I Couldn’t

04/05/2010

Who would have thought it my age. Haha!

Yes, I did it. I managed to thread the needle by myself.

Not once. Not twice. I did it quite a few times.

And I finished all the sewing I needed to do.

Yes, I am feeling very pleased with  myself! I am not only blogging about it – I am bragging about it!

What’s so special about this?

Oh nothing.

Nothing to it except that I am less than 8 months from turning half a century! HA!

Another Reason

27/04/2010

All this talk about diet of late. I have another reason for venturing into this topic.

I was doing the laundry the other day, and as I hung up my daughter’s jeans, I could not help but think of how, once, a long time ago, I would have fitted into them! OK, I know they are much much smaller. But the leggings! Seems like another lifetime ago….

Recently though I was introduced to Joe’s jeans and these have become a semi-incentive to me.

Ah, even as I typed that sentence above, I realise a problem there.

If it is only a semi-incentive, I might not succeed!

Let me go back and view that site again!

Which is Worse

26/04/2010

I saw this article in the news recently. It showed the fat distribution and how it can squash your vital internal organs. Not a pretty sight. It’s a nasty thought too.

Seeing how badly it can affect us, it makes it tempting to go on strict diets, even to take diet pills.

But there is a flip side to it as well of course. Especially for the diet pills. One should always do research into diet pill side effects before going to take them. Otherwise one would be in worse condition than before!

The Sweetest!

17/02/2010

There are days when we feel so unworthy. People will bless us with things. Out of the abundance of their hearts they give.

One such gift recently is this.

The sweetest ever persimmons we have had. Called Sharon (reminds me of a good friend) they are also seedless.

“What more do you want?” I ask myself as I sink my teeth into yet another delight…

Good Results

16/02/2010

I was pre-occupied with my thoughts. So many things to do before going away.

He was being undecided and kept going around, checking with me now and again where we should have breakfast.

Once more he asked me. I almost snarled my reply.(No, I am not always nice! FAR from it!)

Yet again he changed his mind.

Worse, the shop he thought was one kind turned out to be totally different!

Then he finally settled on the one opposite. So we trudged over. (Did I mention we were on foot and I was trying to complete a few texts that I had to send?)

As we walked over to the shop, I dragged my mind away from the messages in my hand and focused on filling my stomach and yes, to what Hubby was saying.

FOOOOD!

And what a yummy place it was too! We had forgotten the wares that this place had to offer.

This is what Hubby had – fish. Yummy fish slices in a lovely clear soup.

And this is what I had – the wickedly nice TomYum. Honestly I finished every last drop of the soup! I’ll go work it out on the ski slopes later! All in all, it turned out to be a pretty pleasant morning after all….

And yes, I did manage to get all my messages sent out before breakfast was over!

Super OWOH Countdown!

14/02/2010

It’s Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year I know.

But rather than post about that right now, I want to post on something else!

In less than 24 hours, I will be doing my draw for One World One Heart! Can you believe that 150 people want to win my still-unknown giveaway! What sports you all are!

Well, I am getting rather excited about it too. Both because I love giving away things, but also because it means my holiday is impending!

Stay tuned for the latest installment… in the meantime, I must go and sign up for other giveaways before the event closes. There are over 1000 participants this year! That’s plenty to go through!

Brave or Foolhardy

13/02/2010

Holidays are a-coming!

One has to ask if we are brave or foolhardy!

Why?

Because we are going skiing – something we have never ever even tried in our younger days. Yet now that the golden years are knocking on our doors, in sheer madness, we are giving it a go. To put it in the words of my Hubby, “Otherwise we will not be able to tell our grand children we had tried it before”!

And no, we did NOT realise that the Winter Olympics would be happening around the same time!

So yes, ski slopes, skis, skiing equipment and snow, here we come. It’s minus six to minus ten degrees we are told. Brrrr! Icicles at the end of our noses?

Along with those images come visions of limbs in plaster casts….

O dear. Should I start looking for insurance quotes I wonder!

The Grains of Sand Fall Steadily…

13/02/2010

The upturned timer waits for no one.

The hands on the face continue to sweep along.

The shadow on the dial continues its relentless course.

And so it is that I am in the final throes of the preparations for my trip. I am still pondering on my size. By the way, this makes good dietary incentive. Pondering I mean. Well, the trip as well.

I have heard that Korean ladies are very sophisticated and know how to make up. Apparently many have operations to improve their looks.

When I hear such things, I am tempted to get into some sort of diet too. Of course I would need a diet supplement to complement whatever diet I embark on…

And so, as the sand runs out, as the countdown begins, as the clock chimes…. the bottom line then. Can I get away with layers of padding and hide the extra weight?
