Someone suggested that since I was toying with the idea of selling and buying (toying is the word), I should take a peek at a site. It’s called real estate oak island nc and supposed to be quite nice. Next to the beach and all that.

So I did. It was just a click away. Whilst I was glancing through the site, suddenly this popped up!

Being the sociable person that I am, of course I replied. But then I said, “It’s ok – I was just looking around”.

Then curiousity got the better of me and I asked if this was a common thing – so interactive and speedy and more importantly, PERSONAL. It added a personal touch to what would normally be a purely read-and-see experience

Clever. Definitely high-touch. Which makes me consider these people if I should need a change. They would be hands on, high-touch. Yes I would bookmark this site!

So we let it grow.

And grow.

And it grew.

It was almost a competition to see whose was longer.

Then one day, we both decided at the same time that enough was enough. It was time for change.

And change we did.

Both of us had more than half of the hair snipped off. She had a new look – stunningly nice. Easy to maintain too. I have one that is old but I know suits me well. Well, going by the many comments since, I am tempted to believe this to be so. Of course,any change from my previously drab style is better, what more such a dramatic one! Haha!

The not-so-good-side is that the already over-crowded hospitals will be stretched to bursting point. I dread to imagine how many will get the care they need…. or not get the care they need.

Meanwhile, I think I will need to stock up on gifts. Someone suggested that baby boy crib bedding sets would be a good gift. Excellent. But I think the better thing would be to combine together with some friends to get them! I can also foresee our purses and wallets being lightened by a great deal by year end!

Which leads us to a new problem for us – accommodating the growth in numbers!

For a start, I suppose we need to look at seating. We will need some changes. Perhaps some stacking church chairs would be something to consider – that would free floor space for other things such as the youth meetings where they can sit down on the floor….

Problems, but good ones. Changes afoot…. stay tuned!

What am I referring to? Why the recent finals of course! Soccer finals that is.

SO many comments, responses and reactions. Perhaps it is the circle of people I mix with. Even in my household…

Take Hubby for instance. To say that he is an avid fan is putting it mildly. Now, he wants to get a proper tv stand to mount our LCD screen TV up. This way he can further enjoy his favourite sport! I can’t help but smile when they get so animated and excited!

Honestly, I am not really a techie person. I use machines such as computers out of necessity. In the process I work hard at picking up new things and finding out what are the best ways of doing things. I try to improve where I can and make life easier for myself.

So when things are changed and my comfort zone is challenged, I find it stressful. BUT I will press on. When I have to learn new things, I will set aside time to do so. When I need to adapt, I try my best…

Imagine then, my delight when I found I could do something totally alien to me, which I had only just learned about in 1 minute. Haha! I was shown it and then later I found I could piece it together and do it.

Not only that, I will be using it during one of my talks later. It is probably a small matter to some, but to me, it’s a big thing!

Of course, the zucchini is a favourite for some. But this cucumber hybrid is, to my tastebuds, not as nice as the original. It’s a fruit of course, but most people consider a vegetable.

There are many legends on how to choose a non-bitter cue. There are even sworn methods of removing the bitterness (cut off the top end and rub it with the cut to “draw out” the bitterness)

Me? I still go by this method which is at the selection stage. See these four below?

I would choose numbers one and three. They may not look nice, but I know they will be pleasant.

The last one I would choose is Number 4 even though it looks big and juicy. Why? Because it is long, symmetrical in shape.

You see, to get a nice cucumber, apart from the usual blemish-free and not-dried criteria, you need to add one more – the top must be smaller than the bottom.

Works every time.

Then I get invited to lunch. Unusually I agree.

Just look at the feast I had!

Curry chicken. I finished all the curry sauce. Again, unusual for me.

Then there was the side dish. I loved the pickled bitter gourd. It was the best touch to a curry dish. Of course I am always partial to peanuts. What’s more when it is mixed with little anchovies. Yum again.

What meal would be complete without a nice dessert! This is sago with gula melaka, a brown sugar made from palm sugar. It was just nice. A great way to end a lovely time. And with Hubby and friends.

Oh, and yes, of course, there was coffee. Simple, but the absolute final touch.

Whether it is or not, it’s yummy. Don’t you agree? Especially that sliver of chocolate. Yum!
