Gaming!

We have some friends who have been playing web games on their iPads – Angry Birds, Cut the Ropes and whatever. (I don’t play but I hear these phrases bandied around!) Whilst they think it is fun, the poor iPad has to bear with all their smacks and shakes. As an observer, I wish I had my camera ready!

Then they discoverxbox 360 kinect! That just blew their minds! No wires, no touch! You play as you would in real life all the games – from golf to dancing. Why, in Star Wars YOU can be Luke Skywalker! It all works by body movement sensors…. Now that’s what I call gaming!

Amber Signs

Amber. Warning. Somehow I can sense it. I see the flashing lights even if others don’t. It is going to happen. And it’s going to happen sooner rather than later! So I must do SOMETHING!

I refer to my much-needed, much-used, much-valued laptop…. It is showing signs of prematurely deceasing! (Big sigh!)

Someone mentioned it’s possible to get cheap laptops online. I wonder if it’s worth exploring…. Certainly I don’t want to wait till the amber signs turn red….! Must act soon!

Upgrading….

I have friends who do blogging so well that they earn money…. Lots of it. One does so well she can afford to pay for holidays for herself and her family! Not bad!

Sometimes I wonder if I could do likewise. But to start with I would have to look at the hosting of my web. Something like hostgator would be a good place to start. It has unlimited web hosting, disk space…. It even has templates

I am tempted. I could upgrade not only the website, but also my lifestyle!

Posture Pointers

After the long day I had, I received this link emailed to me. What joy to have it. I needed it! Someone must have noticed how difficult it had been for me to stay connected on the wireless internet during the training. I had the laptop right in front of me, but I had to lean forward. I also needed to stretch my arms and do things which this video said I should not do. Is it any wonder that I needed a massage from my Hubby after??

Still, it was nice to be loved by him through the massage!

Do We Need a Reserve?

Ahhhh Between Hubby and I we have 3 children and 6 notebooks computers!

Is it any wonder that we hardly consider having any cheap desktops?

And yet, the other day, Hubby had to consider that because we might need one as a reserve. In general, notebooks tend to have more problems than desktops, which are so much easier to buy, repair and maintain. Furthermore, some of the notebooks we have are rather old… It’s a thought!

The Web

It is unimaginable not to have the internet. Most of us have gotten so used to it that many of us will be lost without it. We receive our emails, discuss work, and even perform social networking by keeping in touch and communicate with friends and family. Increasingly life without the internet would be rather awkward. Booking an airline ticket and performing a web check in has never been easier. Why, eventually, I can imagine half of the world’s commerce being done via the internet.Of course there is still a place for real brick and mortar type of retailers, but ultimately the internet is the place for increasing sales and businesses.

But it’s not a one-click does all if you are one of those who want to start a business online. In my opinion, it is crucial to get professional website creator to begin with lest the new business be lost in the millions, if not billions, of websites in the internet. You need to be noticed and known to start a business just like real life business and the professional look which gives that first impressions is essential, followed by good and easy navigation around the site, enabling the prospective buyer to find what is desired.

Making Life Easier

It’s the holidays here right now. This place celebrates the Lunar New Year. Lots of fireworks going off, lion dances blocking the streets, ang pows and food flowing freely.

But for me? I have work to do. I closet myself into the spare bedroom and type away furiously. I want to get things done so I CAN have a holiday. Times like these I wish I had a scanner with powerful scanner software so I can quickly copy the things I need. Right now, however, I have to resort to persuading my third Arrow to help…

Never mind, we are making good progress. Having her beside me makes life easier, though a scanner would have done so too….

Hubby on His Hobby Horse

I have to do this post. Hubby can be so cute!

Everyone is abuzz with the Apple iPad but not my Hubby! He was grumbling from the first day he was issued one by his CEO (who, incidentally, does not himself know how to write and send emails!)

You see, Hubby and his CEO don’t see eye to eye on this. CEO thinks the iPad is the end all and be all for the latest technology even though he doesn’t use it. Hubby thinks it is only an expensive games console! CEO thinks the iPad has everything needed for a showy presentation. Hubby reckons it can’t even effectively do have half the things a basic notebook or even a net-book can.

In short, as I hear him mumbling to himself as he turns it on and walks off, Hubby has relegated the iPad to be a toilet net surfing device to read the news!

Oh wait! What’s that I just overheard – he wants the Android based Galaxy Tablet PC Hahaha!

Seeking an Alternative

A friend of mine is definitely NOT into the iPad he has been given to use.

He grumbles that “No matter what those blinkered Apple gadgets lover say, it simply do not cut it.”

He says that the most serious fault is the lack of multi tasking. “Seriously,” he adds sarcastically, “What can one do while waiting for an attachment or a youtube to be loaded? Brush your teeth?”

Furthermore it does not support flash. This means that if you want to view a video on the internet, you would have to hope that it is not created in flash!

Apparently however, the blackberry playbook has true multi tasking abilities and supports flash. Perhaps here therein likes the serious alternative that he can be happy with!
