It started off as “I don’t know what to do”. We were referring to our hair.
So we let it grow.
And grow.
And it grew.
It was almost a competition to see whose was longer.
Then one day, we both decided at the same time that enough was enough. It was time for change.
And change we did.
Both of us had more than half of the hair snipped off. She had a new look – stunningly nice. Easy to maintain too. I have one that is old but I know suits me well. Well, going by the many comments since, I am tempted to believe this to be so. Of course, any change from my previously drab style is better, what more such a dramatic one! Haha!
Haha! Hubby has given me a wicked thought. After talking about how things would look if we re-did the garden especially with our little furry pet having her own special dog cage, he has suggested that we get out some stuff and dress her up a bit. He saw some people doing that in the magazine he was glancing through. Our imagination then went wild and we could suddenly see little Sprite (that’s her name by the way), dressed in all kinds of gear. Even leather! Of course, the leather stuff we have would have to be re-coloured with some special leather dyeto enhance her natural white and brown. A touch of orange and black would be awesomely striking.
I went to do some training the other night. There, due to limited equipment availability, I had to improvise and adjust the setting. The floor of the meeting venue had black lines. This meant that the wire for the projector almost camouflage into its surroundings. It was an accident waiting to happen. So I decided to enlist some help.
Do you like my cute buddy? Haha! No one tripped over the wire as a result and we had fun that night!
Amidst all the other things, I take on an extra event. It’s a fun thing for me to do as I always enjoy being with younger folk and doing this particular sort of talk. This time is made more fun because of the challenges of venue. Borrowed equipment results in much improvisation required.
Here’s teddy “holding” the wire for the lcd projector so that no one stumbles over it.
In my pursuit to get fitter, slimmer and look better, I am being tempted to try zumba. This is a dance inspired exercise programme. To be more precise, it is Latin dance origin.
There’s one near my place of work and I have heard some rave reviews about this. My only concern, apart from the time factor, is whether or not I can keep up. Judging by this, one has to be good….!
Did I ever mention that I own a sewing machine? Well I do.
Did I ever post about knowing how to sew a little? Straight line stuff. Hate the zips and buttons bits.
Did I upload any photo of this new toy I have? Hubby bought me a new sewing machine. See?
Nice eh? This is me sewing up some velcro straps for this stringy curtain to be hung at the door leading into Arrow #3′s room! “Naise” as some of the youth would say!
Hubby and I just finished having a chat on Skype with our eldest who is now in England. It’s quite fun for him right now – for the first time in his life is experiencing snow! He and his friends have built a snowman taller than they. This was something neither Hubby nor I have had the chance to do. It hardly snowed where we were.
We wonder what other experiences he will have in his time there. Will he jump into a pile of fallen leaves in autumn just as I did in Hyde Park? Will he get to play conkers? Will he discover the joy of riding horses? Hmmm riding horses will be unlike playing in snow and fallen leaves. You’d need more preparation and equipment. Such as learning about the english horse tack and how to use it. I can imagine him getting a sore bottom!
It is customary during the Chinese New Year that the married folk give gifts to the unmarried. Called the ang-pow, or red packet, it is the norm which all children look forward to. In some cultures, parents will still give to their married offspring. Mostly however, over time, it is the grown up children would give to their parents.
This year, after thirty years of marriage, surprise surprise. A stranger decided to give me an ang-pow! Was I wearing my poorest, oldest looking top? Who knows? It’s not much, and quite fun!
