THERE IS SUCH A WORD!

31/12/2013

Goodness! I just found out that there IS such a word as yummilicious!

As much as fantabulous is a word too!

Haha! What fun!

Yummilicious

31/12/2013

I know there isn’t a word like that in the dictionary.

BUT THERE SHOULD BE!IMG_3445This chocolate is awesomely nice! Hubby brought it back from Austria and we decided to break it open for the family to try. It’s peppermint and you can even SEE the peppermint leaves as you bite into it.

We still have a bar of bitter dark. Gosh, I am sooooo looking forward to that one! I have just had a brilliant idea! having that would be a great start to the new year! Yes!

Photos galore

28/12/2013

The family is all back together! Yay!

We decided to get a family photo done.

But what a palaver!

The people we asked to be cameramen (and women) couldn’t make the date and time we wanted. So we decided to go on our own, using a tripod.

Not so easy. Different backgrounds just didn’t work. In the end, what worked was when foster son decided to bring the dog into the house! Unlike some homes, we don’t usually have our dog with us. She was quite happy this time though. Her tail was wagging away as we took snapshot after snapshot.

It made us wonder though… what if we had gone out instead, and was going to shoot animals outside. You know, like shooting wild life. Photograph shooting. Probably need a better camera, and the best game cameras here would be one that can withstand diverse temperatures as well as humidity.

As it was, we made do with the little dinky one that foster son had…. No photos here because we are still editing out my wrinkles and fat! Haha!

My Christmas Highlight

26/12/2013

One thing we used to do.

One thing I have missed doing.

Having one child on the piano. Another on the bass guitar. Yet another on the acoustic guitar and one more on the percussion whilst we make music and sing.

This Christmas holiday is special because we didn’t just exchange gifts. We actually played together. For almost an hour.IMG_3229The piano was backed up by the cajon. The bass was plugged in and going strong. The acoustic could have done with some support being plugged in too, but it was good nonetheless.

We carried on for almost an hour. Then the children changed instruments for a short while…. and then we exchanged gifts.

What a memorable Christmas indeed.

Christmas Day

25/12/2013

It’s all quiet here after the mad rush from the morning service. We go home to sleep. Then the pickups from airport begin. The two guys come home on separate flights as they leave their separate cities to head home.

Home. That’s such a nice four-letter word.

And now, let the fun begin….

Refreshing!

22/12/2013

So it’s a party. It’s a potluck one with minimal planning.

Someone decides to bring fruit.

And the fruit is a huge watermelon. Juicy. Sweet. Served cold, is super refreshing. IMG_2385Do you like the way I have cut it? Haha!

Angel with Attitude

20/12/2013

Hee hee

Saw this in the shop and couldn’t resist it.
IMG_6873Don’t you think this one has “attitude”?

“HUMPHHH! It’s THAT time of the year again”

or “Well I don’t know why that little fella should get a gift this Christmas”

Any more ideas?

Superb Movie Night

19/12/2013

The church has produced a full-length movie! Running for 5 nights and still on-going as I write this. We are privileged to have such a wonderful cast and crew. So many talents amongst us!

The script for the movie revolves around someone who gets a second chance. One would ask does anyone deserve second chances? If so, who? Should it be this person? Or that character? Challenging moments come up, heart wrenching decisions to be made, tragedies which potentially make or break a person are depicted…..

After viewing the very touching movie, viewers are invited to mingle with the guests. This particular group of children were delighted to be scared by the star!
ColinWhat a wonderful night it has been! And promises to continue to be so!  A must watch if you are in the area!

Making Music

18/12/2013

It’s one of the pleasures of my life. I am easy to please.

I just thrill with being able to sit in the presence of people making music. If the tune is one I know, all the better.

So imagine my delight when, as a family, we visited a friend’s place recently and I saw they had a really nice keyboard with weighted key, sensitive to touch, and seemingly so close to the non-digital version.

My evening was a delight gastronomically. That the company of my friends was excellent goes without saying. The cherry on the icing for the evening however, was when my friend’s daughter sat that the keyboard and we had a sing-along. She played by ear and we sang as if we were recording stars. Yes, I am easy to please Haha!

Friends and Fiends

17/12/2013

Our friends came for their visit! It was fun! A time to catch up and to reminisce over old times. What’s more, since it’s almost Christmas the atmosphere in the home was mellow.

That is, until our friends stepped in and out of the front door. That’s when our little four-legged friend decided to go ballistic and mad. She yapped and barked at them the moment a foot stepped out. She didn’t stop even after our two-legged friends moved past the front gate to get into their borrowed car!

Our four-legged friend become a fiend!

Well, apparently there is such a thing bark collar. They can, as the name implies, control a dog from barking. Well, it’s a shame we didn’t know about  radiofence.com for bark collars. Our friends had a good holiday, but their lasting memory of their time with us was our barking (mad) canine…..
