Sounds from a Distant Land

 

We are at Wadi Mousa. Wadi means Valley. Mousa is the Arabic name for Moses. We are in the Valley of Moses. As we arise, we see sights so bleak and yet so beautiful. So dry and yet so rich. This then, is the land we have come to visit.PetraHotelViewWhat a glorious view that waits us as we arose from our warm beds into the cold air. It is brisk, it is nippy and when the wind blows, we are glad for our wind cheaters.

I can hear from the distance someone praying. It is melodious. And I look forward to the rest of the day, to what lies ahead.
