At last we make the long flight to our holiday destinations! The first of two wonderful destinations, we land at London! It’s been years since I have been here; I am really looking forward to my time.
It’s summer time, so the hours are longer. That means we get to go for a walk after dinner.
Our friends take us to visit the place where the London Olympics were held. What an amazing transformation! The whole place is unlike anything we have seen before.
This is where the rowing competition was held. It looks so serene and beautiful. The place is redeemed.
All around I see flowers, cheering up the place.
This is not the east end of London I knew. What joy! I am thrilled that there has been so much development for good. What’s more, the old structures have not been left to disrepair. The stadium is being renovated to house the local football team, West Ham. The swimming pool and arena is being well used by the residents. New and more upmarket shops are opened in the nearby shopping centre. There is so much life!
It’s a great start to the holidays and I am looking forward to more.
But first, now, it’s time to hit the bed after staying up for so many hours….
