Not So Bitter

29/06/2017

It had been a while since we visited this shop. We used to frequent it when our children were schooling. As a beloved routine, we would send them to their respective schools, drop by the main market to get some provisions, then stop for a delicious breakfast before heading home. The staff at the shop would be preparing our regular orders before we could even get to a seat. The stall there was so popular that you would need to get there before noon to get a decent plate.

Then one day, we were late doing our regular run. We decided to drop by the shop anyway. Who knows, our regular stall might still be open?

Well, our regular stall wasn’t, but we this was.
So, a new stall was mounting up a challenge. Their offering was quite different. Spinach noodle. Home-made too. Yum. And something else.

Bitter gourd? Deep fried bitter gourd with salted egg. Oh my, what a lovely unique taste. This is addictive! I will have to make my way back again, and this time deliberately later in the day!

Magnet Magic

02/06/2017

There is just something about magical about magnets. Coming in all shapes and sizes, they can give much pleasure to the little ones. Learning shapes, colours, and yes, even alphabet and numbers. From there, they can even spell and make phrases.

Fridge doors are the best places to have them.  Given a good variety of good quality magnets, you can watch the children play as you mooch about nearby. Add to the magnets other materials which can and cant be stuck by the magnet, and the children will learn even more. The possibilities are quite endless!

Now that my children have outgrown these versatile entertainment, I still keep them around because they are handy for when visitors’ children come around! Yay!
