The Little Things Matter

01/06/2013

So it was supposed to be cheap gifts. Our budget was small. But we wanted them to be meaningful. Somehow making it special despite being low cost. What does one do then?

Add a personal touch, that’s what. Finding ribbons that match and taking a few hours to tie them, simple boxes end up looking very nice indeed.

So proud of my team!

Making Hampers

24/07/2012

One of my favourite past-times now. Making hampers. Lots of hampers if even more fun. What’s more if I dont’ have to spend my own money! Haha!

Really enjoyed myself here. Glad for help, yes. But nonetheless found it real fun.

Bringing Cheer

07/08/2011

Well, our main event is over. Now to clear up!

So we got the cloths down, the decorative plants cleared and then took down all the balloons.

As with the past two years, we loaded up a van and drove to the nearby children’s hospital. There, we hoped we brought some cheer to some of those really ill children.

These are just under half of the balloons!

We go in more often than this of course. It’s not just once a year – some members go in regularly. That’s much appreciated by both the staff and the parents.

For me, I just love being “Santa Claus” in the middle of the year! Haha!

And the Winner Is……….

17/02/2011

It’s been quite an eventful season for One World One Heart. But finally, the end of this year’s event has to come to an end. On my side, who is the winner?

Well, dear Sean from the Florida Gulf Coast wrote this comment:
“I am entering for my daughter Melanie, she had wanted to participate in this year’s event, but a fire changed her plans… I thought I would surprise her and do this for her..”

I hadn’t chosen this as a winner for my giveaway because of sentiments. I used the random number generator. Imagine my delight when the winning number was this one!

Now I am looking forward to hearing more and making friends

One World One Heart 2011

30/01/2011

It’s that time of the year again. I just love it when Lisa gets us going again. So to start off with, THANKS LISA!

To those of you who are new to Metamor4sis, WELCOME! I’m Elizabeth, residing in in the lovely land of Sabah, East Malaysia. Mount Kinabalu the most visible and awesome landmark of the land, alongside her lovely, friendly folk. I have a wide range of interests, which means I keep busy! I dabble with photography (point and shoot stuff), am inspired by music (or made melancholi), and appreciate diverse kinds of craft.

Which leads me to my OWOH 2011 giveaway.

Do you like it?

This, folks, is handcrafted by my septuagenarian mother. She is an amazing lady who enjoys tatting (which is what this is). She also knits and does patchwork. Don’t ask me how she does it. I adore her for doing it, but it’s just not my cup of tea! I mean just LOOK at the detail!

But I digress. Let me tell you more about how to win my giveaway then.

It’s open to all active bloggers worldwide. All you have to do is to make a comment on this post and make sure there is an email address I can contact you with if you win my giveaway. If you leave me your site address too, I can pay you a visit too. Who knows where this will lead to! Haha!

I will announce the Winner on Feb. 17th and on that day, I will both email the winner as well as post about it. Then I will put this gem (about 6cm long without the tassel) into a little pouch and mail it to the Winner….

O wait, do you want to know how to take part? Click on the picture below. Lisa has it all worked out and you just need to follow instructions there. It’s really simple.

PhotobucketOh, and while you are here, take a little tour of some of my other posts and my other giveaway site. It’s a similar item, but in a different colour. Who knows, it might be the beginning of a new and good friendship! Oh, and another thing, feel free to go visit some of the other participants of One World One Heart. Who knows, you might pick up a giveaway there!

Captions Wanted

He was supposed to have been passed on to some children to play with.

But somehow he got left behind.

Someone stuck him up on the blinds. He looked cool there. Dont you think so too? Especially with his sunglasses!

But over time, he was forgotten.

And he got neglected.

It was almost as if he felt insignificant.

And small.

And he shrunk in the eyes of man.

*Laughing out loud*

Such a sad story. Is there a moral to this? Is there a happy ending?

Answers and suggestions welcome! The winner…. let’s see… I’ll have to think of something to give away. No, not balloons!

Advice Needed

15/02/2009

I have another site which I regularly update (actually I have a few!)

There is a counter there which tells me that I will soon be hitting 20,000. I’d like to do a giveaway for that 20,000th person.

The problem is, how?

Do I teach my readers how to do a screen capture and then use that as evidence? How can I monitor that people don’t refresh the screen and thereby change the number? Is it possible to monitor at all?

Anyone out there who can help?
