Yesssss

08/11/2018

So it  has been a while indeed. I have been contemplating whether or not to continue with posting here. Hence the silence.

After much deliberation, I have decided, and will do a makeover as well… So my answer to my own question as to whether or not to continue is YES…..

On more way to say YES for us, is the way the East Malaysians say it …. BAH!

This Time Five Years Ago

21/05/2017

How times flies. This time five years ago, our second offspring was graduating and giving the valedictory speech.

Today will see him having worked for five years, fulfilling his bond in this nearby country where he had gone upon accepting a scholarship. He’s going to graduate again, having done studies by night as he worked. Proud of him, his perseverance, and diligence. Thankful. Reminiscent of my time of leaving home at a young age, to study and work, and then end up staying for twelve years! I, too, celebrated my 18th and 21st birthday away from family. Thankful that he had good friends to celebrate with…..

The One That Didn’t Get Away

23/05/2016

This was one that definitely didn’t get away. What’s more, it looks like it was caught using legitimate means!

It’s very sad to know that some people dont catch fish. They bomb them, stunning and killing randomly. It’s such and irresponsible and selfish way to get a little bit of fish, causing much destruction.

Knowing this, we are actually thankful to receive this fish cooked like this!

Best Friend

08/08/2013

Hubby didn’t use to like dogs. He preferred cats!

So we agreed to take on a cat.

Then he developed an allergy to the cat.

And now he doesn’t mind our dog.

Honestly, who couldn’t like her? She greets you when you arrive as if you are even better than bone marrow! Her tail wags in her own crooked way and would create a whirlwind if it were magnified a hundred times over.

Then she will play with you. She thinks it is great fun to be stalked by you.

She dashes behind the car!

Then rushes to the bushes!

Off she goes again, to the other side of the garden!

Wait! She has moved again – this time to the potted plants!

IMG_7201Finally she succumbs to her ultimate delight – to have her belly stroked… and stroked… and stroked. And her head. And her ears.

Hubby is smitten now.

Can you hear both of them sigh? Haha!

Some Days Ahhhhh

17/06/2013

My day of rest.

Once a week.

I just want to laze about.

Today is the day.

Just like my cat.

Mellow Moments

20/05/2013

Once in a while, it is just nice to sit down with a hot cuppa and chill. (I know, that was a pretty contradictory statement! But that’s just what came to mind when I look at this photo)936831_10151649279709879_1180481088_nHubby and I don’t often get to do this. But when we do, it’s nice. Mellow Moments where we can just sit and go mmmmmmm and hardly say anything at all.

Just nice.

Time Lapse from Space

Awesome and humbling stuff

Gasp

29/10/2012

It suddenly dawned on me.

Normally at this time of the year, we would have the decorations up already. O dear. We are quite behind.

The thing is, we are into a truly busy stretch. So busy that I hadn’t even realised November is going to be upon us. There are still a few more major events before the end of the year. Phew!

Going to try to get something organized soon! Otherwise we will run out of time ….

Blessings

Eid Mubarak

18/08/2012

According to the wikipedia, the phrase Eid Mubarak (Arabicعيد مبارك‎, Hindi: ईद मुबारक Persian/Urdu: عید مُبارک, Malayalam: ഈദ്‌ മുബാറക്‌, Bengali: ঈদ মুবারক) is a traditional Muslim greeting reserved for use on the festivals of Eid ul-Adha and Eid ul-Fitr. The phrase translates into English as “blessed festival”, and can be paraphrased as “may you enjoy a blessed festival” (Eid refers to the occasion itself, and Mubarak means “Blessed”)

After a whole month of communal fasting and breaking of fast, many ties are forged, some old ones strengthened, some new ones developing. There is something special about the community spirit in doing things. Struggling together. Enjoying the specially prepared food as one. Rubbing sleepy eyes and grumbly tummies are somehow more bearable when you know another person nearby  is going through the same emotions….

But all that is coming to an end now.

After this period, it is celebration time!! Eid Mubarak!
