Growing Intentions

17/04/2020

Tending to some the herbs from in the garden… all were gifted by friends. I am so glad they havent died on me! That is because they came with instructions on the care needed, and I have worked to ensure they are followed…

Reminds me of Colossians 2:6,7 “As you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built and built up in Him, established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding with thanksgiving”

Yes we need to be intentional to continue growing well.

Paint and Ponder

09/04/2020

Climbing up and down the ladder to get to all the nooks and crannies.

The ceiling in my house is high. Higher than most houses. I had to purchase a taller than usual ladder to reach the ceiling fans. Imagine having to paint those walls! And the ceilings! Just as well I didnt have bouts of vertigo! So glad that I was fit enough to do this! And most of all, that I enjoyed it despite the aches after.

With such thankfulness, as I reached up to paint the top of the walls, It crossed my mind  – Why am I not using the right tools? Shouldn’t I put an extension on my paint brush or roller instead? I realised that the post-painting session pains in my shoulder could have be lessened had I taken the extra steps to be more prepared. Instead of thinking beforehand, preparing in advance, and thereby using the right methods which could possibly ended up with a quicker and with a more comfortable conclusion, I rushed headlong and just did it… In this case, lesson learned – shortcuts don’t work without having some fore-planning. Just do it – put some though to it!

Painting Preps and Flaky Friends

01/04/2020

As with any project, there should be some preparatory work. Ground work is needed. Planning ensures smoothing out of potential bumps.

It is no different for our painting project. Old flaky paint needs to be removed.Sometimes I think that flaky relationships ought to be removed from our lives too… Just saying! Haha!

Preparing to Paint

28/03/2020

“Do something new” we were encouraged. Well, even before the encouragement to do so, we had prepared to do so. Old folks getting down to some DIY. We have done this kind of thing before, but not at our present house. So when news came about impending restricted movement allowed, we got ready… Lots to do!

Here we are then. Two old(er) folks, going to attempt something we haven’t done in years…!

Some before and after photos in the next post… perhaps!

Lockdown Menu – Homemade Goodies

21/03/2020

Fourteen days of food to have to think about. For some it is just too daunting. They would rather have instant noodles daily… until the ingestion of this menu ends in hospitalisation!Whilst I love noodles, I still prefer variety.

I also enjoy simple meals. One simple one is a slice of home-made bread. I make this weekly. Packed with the goodies I like, like chia seeds, sunflower seeds, orange peel… Healthy stuff!

Then add some home-made mulberry jam… low sugar, perfect consistency, no additives. Always satisfying!

What about you? Any suggestions for menu during lockdown?

Soapy Solutions

20/03/2020

When you are living under government controlled movement order, working from home can require major adjustments.

Thankful for Hubby who is a whizz at experimenting and doing new things.

Here he is, making soap! Such an apt activity at this time. Each batch takes a month to cure, but already this one already looks good! Most are fragrance-free because our son prefers that. Three have my preferred and experimental scents added in. I’m already looking forward to the end of the month when I can try them out!

So how are YOU spending your time these days?

Room with a View

04/01/2018

Sometimes it is just nice to sit and be still. It’s been such a hectic few months. From multiple weddings to funerals, from Christmas plays to Christmas parties, from rehearsals to performances, from family time to work catch-ups…. It’s time to relax. Be quiet. And just chill.

What better way than to do it from a room with a view? Apart from being by the beach, or enjoying a walk in the park… sometimes I just want to hibernate. Thankful for the view I get….
Do you like what you see?

Pampered

A free night’s stay in a swanky hotel in the golden triangle area of the capital. What a way to end a business trip away. Beyond expectations really. The room is labelled premium so we get located to near the top floor. Then we get super fast wifi for five appliances. The bell boy who attends to us is so informative and polite – obviously well trained. Wow.

The ceiling of the room is so high that one can’t help but be impressed.

Not to mention the little touches that make it a little more special, such as extra towels without being asked.

It made this business-cum-getaway a special and blessed one!

Finally!

19/11/2015

It was a roller-coaster day. I had to make a decision which had been disturbing me. Once the decision was made, I experienced a mini upheaval of emotions before settling down and being focused. So glad I finally managed to do so!

The best part was going home, feeling relieved and not drained! Despite leaving the office late, I was energised. In fact, I felt fresh and got to put up my Christmas tree with Arrow #3. Finally!
ChristmasTreeI like it!
